June 19, 2012 - Plextor (www.plextor-digital.com), a leading developer of high-performance digital storage technology, have released its latest External Slim DVD/CD Writer, PX-612U, with PlexTV.

PlexTV is a new feature enabling Plextor’s DVD/CD drive to work with televisions, media player and other USB-enabled devices. With PlextTV, user can connect their DVD writer with a TV or any USB enabled devices, insert the disc and view the contents of the inserted disc. PlexTV will be available exclusively with the PX-612U.

Currently, HDTVs are compatible with a wide variety of devices via USB connection, including hard drives, cameras, and flash drives, but do not support optical disk drives built for computers. With PlexTV, users can use Plextor’s PX-612U drives to connect to a TV by translating signal output to mimic a hard drive.

This easy to use, but powerful application has multiple uses, like testing and quality measurement of user written or pressed media, advanced drive and disc information, control and fine-tuning of the drive. NERO 10 Essentials is bundled to include high-quality applications for DVD burning, CD burning and media playback.

The PX-612U is backed by 2 years of Plextor’s ‘Fast Warranty Service’, which implies 2 year onsite warranty in the EU, Norway and Switzerland (and 1 year carry-in in other countries).
